That's one. You also have the god/human dual nature of both characters. They both function as a savior of humanity. It's a pretty interesting subject.

The Superman mythos contains tons of callbacks to Jesus. While it's hilarious as to why this preacher put that in the sermon, the comparisions are still there.

Of course. Anything hard rock (and harder) is 100% Satanic.
Rap/hip-hop is bad because it 'glorifies' violence, sex, drugs
If you grew up in the 90's going to the meetings, it was the thing that was always hammered on. Conventions, assemblies, always had parts about it. It was the boogey man of the 90's, similar to how college is the boogeyman for kids today.

Circuit overseers acting like bigshots
by d ini always felt that circuit overseers always acted as if they were some type of celebrity at the hall.people damn near worshipped these people.
i always felt like we should worship god and not these people or the governing bodyw while i was still in.. this was probably my process of eventually leaving..

Of all the CO's I've had., there were 2 super super nice ones. Our family became pretty close to them. One would come sit-in on our family study and end up taking a nap on the couch, telling my dad, 'you got this.' I ran into him 15 years later at Bethel. He was sick with cancer and getting treatment at a NYC hospital. His wife and he still remembered me after all those years. I am guessing he's dead now.
The other nice one was just never harsh at all. He was always genuinely encouraging and he didn't spew WTS bullshit when offering 'encouragement.' His wife and he went through a lot of crap before going into the circuit work so I think he had a much more balanced and realistic viewpoint on life. I think that goes a long way. A lot of the newer CO's are guys who went to MTS school at a young age and then after a few years right into the circuit work. They have no idea what real life is like.
I've only met one CO who was a complete piece of shit asshole. He would constantly push his personal ideas as doctrine. As a kid in the 80's and 90's, my brother and I LOVED Star Wars. Toys, video games, the movies, everything. This CO noticed that and told my dad it was evil. My dad made us get rid of all our stuff. My dad just became an elder so I guess he figured he had to tow the company line. I even asked my dad if he really believed it was evil and demonic or if he was just doing what the CO said. He danced around the question so you know what he really thought. He couldn't admit he just did it because the CO said so. One time his wife was scheduled to go on a study with my mom but she broke the appt. because she had to get her hair done. My mom approached her about breaking the appointment. She replied, "I'm the CO's wife. I can do what I want." I hope they're dead now. Assholes.

Looking up scriptures during meetings
by Stealth inrecently i attended a jw funeral after a 12 year fade.
i did not bring a bible to the talk.
i found it somewhat odd and distracting to the flow of the talk at how much time was spent by all the jws looking up scriptures in the bible that they have all have read 1,000s of times before.

If you want to shock people, just bring a tablet and look up the scriptures on an electronic version. Somehow the bible paper is sacred and it's not the same to use a tablet or computer or whatever.

Looooooooooong Prayers...
by likeabird inlet's have a bit of a laugh.. .
who of you rolled your eyes when brother never ending prayers was called up to give the closing prayer?.
who of you then proceeded to tap your feet, fidget loudly or start doing balancing acts off the back of the chair in front of you while waiting for it to end?.

This is one of the few things the WT gets right. They've always directed brothers to keep prayers at meetings under a minute. It sucks when the brother decides to preach in his prayers. It's so awful.
The worst place for long prayers is at Bethel. For certain prayers Bethel Elders are used. They few this is a chance to be in the spot light so they come up with the most word-salady prayers you've ever heard. Phrases like 'bless the hands that prepared this food' were commonly used.
Best short prayer ever was from Brother Barbour. It was fried fish that day. His prayer was literally, "Jehovah we thank you for the food. Amen." It was amazing. He really wanted to eat that fish.

Try google searching 'watchtower out of court settlements' you should find some AP links or something. They've absolutely settled out of court along with gag orders so people can't find out what really happened and what the payouts were.

Ciro and his wife stayed at our home once when I was a teenager. He is an absolute nutjob. Just from observing him I should have known something was up with this organization.

Whoops my math was wrong. 200 an hour. Truly you'll be in the breadlines soon because of obamercare.
UHC would be preferred and I'm not keen on the fact that this bill amounts to a giant payout to insurance companies. that said there's some good provisions in the bill, for example free birth control for women.
